You may request permanent SecretUndo Account Deletion and associated workspace data at any time. There is no fee for submitting an account-deletion request.
This page explains how to submit a request, how we verify it, what information is deleted and what limited information may need to be retained.
Before requesting deletion
Deleting your SecretUndo account is permanent. Before continuing, consider exporting or recording any incident details, remediation history or audit information you are authorized to retain.
Account deletion may remove:
- Your SecretUndo user profile;
- Your SecretUndo workspace and membership records;
- Google authentication associations stored by SecretUndo;
- GitHub App installation information stored by SecretUndo;
- Repository metadata synchronized into SecretUndo;
- Secret-incident fingerprints, masked values and occurrence metadata;
- Ownership and blast-radius assessments;
- Remediation-job records and results; and
- Active SecretUndo sessions.
Deletion does not reverse credential rotations, revocations, commits, pull requests, repository-history changes or other actions that were already completed.
How to request account deletion
Send the request from the same email address used for your SecretUndo Google login.
Email a SecretUndo account-deletion request
Use this subject:
SecretUndo Account Deletion Request
Include the following information:
- The email address used to sign in to SecretUndo;
- A clear statement that you want the SecretUndo account permanently deleted; and
- The name of the SecretUndo workspace, if known.
You may use this message:
I request permanent deletion of my SecretUndo account and associated workspace data. I am sending this request from the email address used for my SecretUndo Google login. I understand that completed repository changes, credential rotations and revocations cannot be reversed.
Do not send passwords, Google recovery codes, GitHub tokens, private keys, webhook secrets, cloud credentials or complete exposed secrets.
Identity verification
To protect accounts from unauthorized deletion, StoryTimeAndConfessions will verify that the request came from the email address associated with the SecretUndo account.
We may ask you to reply to a verification email or complete another reasonable verification step. We will never ask for your Google password, GitHub password, private key, recovery code or complete access token.
If you no longer have access to the Google-linked email address, contact [email protected] and explain the access problem. Additional verification may be required.
Processing time
We aim to acknowledge valid deletion requests within seven days and complete verified requests within 30 days.
Processing may take longer where:
- Additional identity verification is reasonably necessary;
- The request involves multiple workspaces or organization-controlled repositories;
- Information must be retained temporarily for security, fraud prevention or legal compliance; or
- A provider outage prevents safe completion.
If additional time is reasonably required, we will provide an update through the verified email address.
Disconnecting GitHub
You may disconnect SecretUndo from GitHub before or after submitting the deletion request:
- Sign in to GitHub.
- Open your personal or organization settings.
- Open Applications or GitHub Apps.
- Find the SecretUndo installation.
- Choose to suspend or uninstall it.
Organization installations may require action from a GitHub organization owner.
Removing the GitHub App stops future authorized access but does not automatically delete information already processed by SecretUndo. Submit the deletion request described above to delete the SecretUndo account data.
Revoking Google access
You may revoke SecretUndo’s Google account access through your Google Account’s third-party connections or permissions settings.
Revoking Google access prevents future Google authentication but does not, by itself, delete the SecretUndo account. Submit a deletion request to remove the account and associated SecretUndo data.
What may be retained
After deletion, StoryTimeAndConfessions may retain limited information where reasonably necessary to:
- Demonstrate that the deletion request was completed;
- Comply with applicable law or a valid legal obligation;
- Detect fraud, abuse or repeated unauthorized activity;
- Resolve a security incident or dispute; or
- Protect users, providers and service infrastructure.
A deletion record may retain a non-reversible hash of the account email address, request timestamps, completion status and minimal audit information. It will not retain the full detected credentials associated with the deleted workspace.
Residual information may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 additional days before being overwritten through the ordinary backup lifecycle.
Organization-controlled information
If your SecretUndo access was provided through a business or GitHub organization, some information may be controlled by that organization rather than solely by you.
Deleting your personal account may not require deletion of organization-owned incident records, audit records or repository-remediation history where the organization has a legitimate right or legal obligation to retain them. Where practical, your personal identifiers will be removed or minimized.
Completed external actions
Account deletion cannot remove or reverse information independently held by third parties. Examples include:
- GitHub commits and pull requests;
- Repository history already rewritten and pushed;
- GitHub audit logs;
- Credentials already rotated or revoked;
- Cloud-provider security logs;
- Email delivery records held by an email provider; and
- Google records concerning permissions you previously granted.
Contact the relevant provider if you need to exercise rights regarding information independently controlled by that provider.
Cancellation of a deletion request
You may ask to cancel the request before deletion is completed. Send the cancellation from the verified account email address with the subject:

Once deletion has been completed, the account and associated data may not be recoverable.
Confirmation
When the verified deletion process is complete, we will send confirmation to the requesting email address unless prohibited by law or prevented by account-security concerns.
