ModelMarshal Privacy Policy

ModelMarshal Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 25, 2026
Developer: Storytime and Confessions
Product: ModelMarshal

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how ModelMarshal processes information when you use the plugin. ModelMarshal is designed as a local-first desktop plugin and does not operate a ModelMarshal cloud service that stores your projects or run history.

2. Information processed

ModelMarshal may process the following information:

  • Google identity information: Basic identity data returned by Google, which may include a Google subject identifier, email address, display name, and profile information.
  • Authentication information: Google OAuth tokens required to maintain the authorized connection.
  • Provider credentials: API credentials for an external model provider you configure.
  • IDE context: Task instructions and code context you explicitly select for a request.
  • Configuration: Provider endpoint, model name, local-only preference, and policy settings.
  • Run receipts: Local records containing request details, approvals, provider information, results, estimates, and timestamps.

3. How information is used

ModelMarshal uses information to:

  • Authenticate your Google account.
  • Connect to the model provider you select.
  • Display information before an AI request is executed.
  • Transmit only the context you approve.
  • Display the provider’s response.
  • Estimate model usage cost.
  • Apply local security and approval policies.
  • Create and display local run receipts.

4. Data destinations

  • Your device: Plugin settings, policies, supported credentials, and run receipts.
  • Google: Authentication and token validation when you connect, refresh, or revoke Google access.
  • Your local model: Approved requests when you select a local provider.
  • Your external AI provider: Approved requests when you select an external provider. That provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy.

5. Storage and security

ModelMarshal uses JetBrains PasswordSafe-backed storage for supported credentials and keeps run receipts locally. Secret redaction is intended to reduce accidental disclosure, but it cannot guarantee that every sensitive value will be detected.

You are responsible for reviewing the selected context and ensuring that you are authorized to transmit it.

6. Telemetry, advertising, and sale of information

ModelMarshal version 0.1.0 does not include developer-operated behavioral analytics, targeted advertising, or sale of personal information.

Google, JetBrains, and external AI providers process information under their own privacy policies.

7. Retention

Settings and run receipts remain on your device until you delete them, clear the IDE’s application data, or uninstall ModelMarshal. External providers may retain approved requests according to their own policies and your provider-account settings.

8. Your choices

You may:

  • Use a local model instead of an external provider.
  • Decline an AI request.
  • Restrict the context included with a request.
  • Export or delete local run receipts.
  • Disconnect your Google account.
  • Revoke Google authorization.
  • Remove external-provider credentials.
  • Uninstall ModelMarshal.

9. Children

ModelMarshal is a professional developer tool and is not directed to children under 13. Users must also meet the age requirements of Google, JetBrains, and their selected AI provider.

10. Changes and contact

Material changes to this policy will be posted here with an updated effective date. For privacy questions, use the developer contact displayed on the ModelMarshal JetBrains Marketplace listing.
