What is ModelMarshal?
ModelMarshal is an AI control plane for JetBrains IDEs. It helps you review cost, destination, context, and permissions before an AI request runs and stores a local receipt afterward.
Is ModelMarshal free?
The current Marketplace release is free. An external AI provider may charge for model usage. Running local models uses your own computer resources.
Why is Google sign-in required?
Google sign-in establishes an identifiable plugin session and supports account controls. ModelMarshal requests basic identity information—not access to Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, or other Google content.
Does ModelMarshal upload my entire project?
No. ModelMarshal prepares only the context you explicitly select and requires approval before sending it to the chosen provider.
Can I keep requests on my computer?
Yes. Configure a local Ollama-compatible endpoint and confirm that the displayed destination is your device before approving the request.
Does ModelMarshal automatically edit files or execute commands?
No. Version 0.1.0 does not automatically execute commands, modify files, change dependencies, alter databases, or deploy software.
Are cost estimates guaranteed?
No. They are planning estimates. The external provider determines the final price and charge.
Where are run receipts stored?
Run receipts are stored locally in plugin-managed storage. You can review, export, or delete them through ModelMarshal.
Does ModelMarshal sell my information?
No. ModelMarshal version 0.1.0 does not sell personal information or use it for behavioral advertising.
How do I delete my account?
Follow the Account and Data Deletion instructions on this page to disconnect Google, revoke authorization, remove local credentials and receipts, and uninstall the plugin if desired.
How do I get support?
Use the developer contact displayed on the ModelMarshal JetBrains Marketplace listing. Include your IDE name and version, ModelMarshal version, operating system, and a redacted description of the problem. Never send API keys, OAuth tokens, or confidential source code.
