Modus Operandi and Family Background
Rakesh resided in Bhadohi alongside his two children—a 20-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son. Following the death of his first wife, he remarried, and both children were born from this second marriage. Several years ago, his second wife passed away as well.
He eventually entered into a third marriage; however, his third wife abandoned the household approximately two years prior due to persistent domestic friction and mistreatment.
Following her departure, Rakesh began forcing his 20-year-old daughter into a marital dynamic. Whenever she opposed his demands, he subjected her to severe physical assaults and issued death threats to enforce compliance.

Intimidation of the Minor Sibling
The victim’s 15-year-old brother witnessed these abusive episodes on multiple occasions. However, Rakesh threatened to kill him if he reported the matter to neighbors or law enforcement, forcing the minor into silence out of fear for his own life.
20 Days of Solitary Starvation Under a Tin Shed
As the daughter continued to resist his advances, Rakesh moved her to the rooftop of the residence. He tied her limbs with ropes and locked her beneath an isolated tin shed.
- Deprivation of Sustenance: The victim was denied both food and water for approximately 20 days in the enclosed rooftop structure.
- Neighborhood Alert: On October 7, 2026, residents in the locality noticed a strong, foul odor emanating from Rakesh’s residence. Neighbors realized the 20-year-old daughter had not been seen outside for nearly a month and alerted the local police station.
Police Intervention and Medical Rescue
A police team arrived at the residence to investigate the report. Upon searching the premises, officers discovered the 20-year-old woman tied up beneath the rooftop shed.
Severe deprivation had left the victim in critical condition, reduced to extreme emaciation, and unable to speak clearly. Law enforcement officers immediately cut the bindings and transported her to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Upon being provided fluids by medical personnel, she consumed approximately 1.5 liters of water almost immediately, highlighting the extent of dehydration she had endured.
